View Full Version : How many of you have heard Shine It All Around?

I just heard Plant's new single Shine It All Around from his latest album Mighty Rearranger from my favorite Led Zeppelin site & it's a great song sounding kind of Zeppelinesque with heavy drums similiar to the late, great John Bonham.

Ive heard it too. I really like it.

I thought it was just decent. He is trying to be his old self, but doesn't have the voice anymore, so he relies on a lot of annoying effects.

i heard plant's new song and i like it pretty much a nice blend of old and new

I heard it again and it has grown on me even more. You can really hear what the press release talks about how Plant let others bring thier sound to the mix. I am not a huge fan of is solo work but IMHO this is his best single since "I'm in the mood"

I played it on WDIY yesterday. I sampled the whole album. It may have a touch of Zeppelin but overall Plant has been distancing himself from the old Led Zep sound for a while. His recent worlks have been world music influenced. He was part of that group with Peter Gabriel a few years back. This new album has a rock edge but still has that experimental world music feel.

I bought 'Mighty Rearranger' on Friday and I think it's the most Zeppelinesque of any of his albums so far, notwithstanding the 'world music' element it has. I really like it and the guitar work is great. His voice seems strong to me, too.

He's on 'Later' with Jools Holland in a couple of weeks time - can't wait. :D

I don't understand, Zeppelin was know for taken elements of world music and adding them to their rock and roll. I personally love world music, so I may buy this album.

I heard Shine It All Around on the radio today. It was pretty sweet, very reminiscent of Dreamland I think. The guitar sound was kinda grungey, to me, it sounded like power chords or something. :D

I was going to listen to it but then I heard rock and roll was dead so I figured why bother.:pound:

Listening to it now..I like it:smile:

I have only heard Shine it All Around and I didnt like it. The background music is too repitious and commercialized sounding.

Definately not Big Log!!

I really like the psychedelic vibe of "Shine It All Around" (the one or two times I heard it on the radio, at least); will snag the CD when it comes out on Tuesday here in the US. (May download some MP3's of it beforehand, even. ;) )

But I really liked "Big Log" too. :)

I've heard it and its ok. Not gonna buy the album, but don't mind hearing it when it's on the internet radio.

Plant is kicking off the new tour on Letterman tonight.

Supposedly Rolling Stones interviewed him recently and he said the one band he wanted to perform with was the Black Keys. Not as vocalist but as their bass player!

I finally heard it and really like it. I plan on getting his latest CD ASAP.
