Lots to choose from, but the phenomal Levee gets it for me. From the earth shattering drumming to the swirling guitar effects, to the excellent harmonica, this sounds like an evil spell being cast or something. Just awesome.

Oh shoot! I did not see the "all of them" choice. Well, I usually go for the Stairway vote in these... but this time chose another favorite, Black Dog.

I bet you thought I was going to say Misty Mountain Hop  but no, it's the ever predictable Stairway To Heaven

I just want to give some love for the two not-yet-voted-for songs. Rock and Roll is exactly what the title promises...fast, simple, flat out rock. And Four Sticks, while I still don't have any idea what the lyrics are meant to be about, is a great experiment and the fact that Bonzo had trouble getting it right tells you something about it's complexity.

This is true.
This song is amazing. There at least a dozen superimposed parts, and you need headphones to cath all the stuff that's going on there.

This album is so incredibly good that choosing only one favourite song is ridiculous... We had a thread like at the original CRF, and if my memory doesn't fail me, I picked Levee then. So it means I'll have to go with Black Dog this time

When The Levee Breaks...

I'm a bit surprised to see it ahead of Stairway at this point... Stairway always seems to win most polls...

Same goes for me... Take that song out and the album could challenge my personal top five favorites of all-time...

I bought IV in Insbruuk on a school trip to Austria when it had just been released....took 2 weeks to actually hear it when I got home but it blew my mind......
Sandy Denny on BOE was awesome and When the Levee Breaks incredible......I chose Stairway but the whole album is a classic.....I was married to a Zeppelin freak and in 30 odd years of watching rock bands the day we both sat for 14 hours in a field in Hertfordshire for the 2nd Knebworth gig watching crap like The New Barbarians and Chas & Dave whilst being baked in the sun waiting for Zeppelin to come on and play the best live set I have ever witnessed will always be burned in my memory..... :headbange

And thats high praise coming from a Doors fan of 37 years standing....;)

When The Levee Breaks though the one two punch of Black Dog/Rock And Roll is about equal.
