I actually was thinking of the NY Dolls version and to be honest was not aware that it was copped from the Shangri-Las. I never developed much of an appreciation for that very early 60s girl group...

I think Emerson's playing technique, where he rocks the organ back and forth in front of himself, is every bit as, if not more pretentious than Gabriel wearing a costume, suited to a song, in a band...
