Re: Jethro Tull Announce Two 50th Anniversary Compilations - Ultimate Classic Rock

I wouldn't buy the box set because I have the CDs already. The tour comes close enough to make it tempting.

I'd recommend picking up the original albums, even if you buy them used.

Re: Watch Alice Cooper in 'Jesus Christ Superstar' - Ultimate Classic Rock

I know Alice is in his '70s, but i still expected a little more from him. Then again, I can't think of anyone who could have done this anywhere near as well as this.

Re: The Moody Blues Days Of Future Passed Live Set For Release

I would imagine that Ray Thomas was too ill to be able to play. I have no idea why Mike Pinder wouldn't participate.

Re: Passings: Ray Thomas of the Moody Blues (1941 - 2018)

Things have taken an interesting turn. I did not have either of RT's solo albums. I found a new CD of Hopes, Wishes and Dreams. I knew that I wouldn't find an affordable copy of From Mighty Oaks. I...

Re: Passings: Ray Thomas of the Moody Blues (1941 - 2018)

His voice matured after the first few albums. OK, maybe the recording techniques got better. My point is that I thought he had the best voice in the band.

So now our Veteran Cosmic Rocker is...

Re: R.I.P. Glenn Cornick Of Jethro Tull, Dead At 67

There are rumors revolving around his life-style, which allegedly was of a more hard-partying nature than the rest of the band.

Re: Dave Clark Five Bassist Rick Huxley Dead at 72

Rick Huxley was in a band that was popular when rock music was FUN. Maybe not the virtuoso like those who came after him, but part of some great memories. RIP.

Re: Second Singers?

I voted for Pete. I almost voted for "other", thinking about Entwistle, but that would have been more because of the songs he wrote rather than the quality of his singing.

I was never a big Seger fan, to put it mildly, despite being a native, life-long resident of metro-Detroit. However, he smokes Jackson Browne.

Re: Strawberry AC vs The Blues Magoos vs Quicksilver..

I don't know what is available from them, but they were who I voted for. If you go the download route, their one big song was "We Ain't Got Nothing Yet". They were a psychedilic band from New York.
