Re: Grand Funk Railroad vs. Steve Miller Band!

Steve Miller just on the strength of a few of his hits.

Actually I'm not too big on either. Both have some of the most stupid, inane lyrics imaginable.

GFR repeating "I'm getting closer to my home" a hundred times or Steve Miller's incredible poetry "Abracadabra, I wanna reach out and grab ya!"

Despite all their big Top 40 hits, I've heard very little from either band that really grabs me. I'm giving this one to the Steve Miller Band though because of that band's more extensive catalogue and greater technical sophistication.

Not a big fan of GRF but I'd vote just about anybody over Steve Miller.

Although I've heard GFR lauded as the biggest band in the world, at one time (for about 10 seconds), but I prefer the SMB, even if I'm tired of his music!

Grand Funk Railroad‘s sold-out show at New York’s Shea Stadium on July 9, 1971 is famous for selling its 55,000 tickets in 72 hours, faster than the Beatles had in August 1965. That record at the home of baseball’s Mets stood until the ballpark was demolished in 2008.
