Puke The MTV poll

You:

1) You don't like MTV, think it's a BS crap, not worth watching. You rather cycle it in the toilet.

2) You think it is fair, what music they are producing, but you don't care.

3) You fuking love them so much, try to watch every day, you like to go sleeping watching them.

Re: The MTV poll

Yo! MTV Raps was a great show. Don't care so much for MTV now because of the lame video's but it helped a lot of music get noticed. If it wasn't for mtv a lot of bands (especially in the 80's) wouldn't have been so popular right now.

Re: The MTV poll

Never cared for it too much. When it first started out it had a novelty quality about it, but it didn't turn out to be what I wished it would be. When I first heard about it, I hoped it would be an updated version of Midnight Special or Don Kirshner's Rock Concert or something...turned out to be much less about music and more about style.

Re: The MTV poll

Does MTV show videos in Europe? Over here it's all shows, like the real world. They only show videos at 3 in the morning and then it's all pop hip-hop crap. I can't remember the last time I watched it. I watch the VH1 classic channel on cable though.

Re: The MTV poll

MTV is currently a channel run by morons aiming their inept, incompetent, and downright boring programming at an audience that seriously needs to get a life, IMHO. How anyone can watch this junk is beyond me. I loved MTV at the beginning as I learned much about the artists I've admired over the years but the enjoyment sure didn't last long. No thanks! I'll stick with VH1 Classic. At least you hear music on this channel and re-experience many of the classic videos that MTV, when it was good, used to feature.

Re: The MTV poll

Don't they know what the "M" stands for in MTV?

At least my digital cable offers MTV Hits, which is what MTV would be today if they had left it alone, but I don't care for today's music. I actually liked VH1 Mega Hits better, but it's gone!

Re: The MTV poll

Never liked MTV. Even in the begining I thought it was crap. It seemed to me that MTV'S philosphy was, how you look is more important than how you sound. Now it's not even about music, as far as I can tell.

Re: The MTV poll

i hated that it made it almost mandatory that all bands had to make a video, IF they even decided to play it, it's about the music not the video. though filming gigs and such would have been the best route for them as they evolved.

I was walking past the mental hospital the other day, and all the patients were shouting, "13...13....13...13."

The fence was too high to see over, but I saw a little gap in the planks, so I walked over and looked through to see what was going on.

Someone poked me in the eye with a stick.

Then they all started shouting. "14...14...14...14....".

Re: The MTV poll

I think that it's one of the reasons for the decline of music as an art. Because of its' visual emphasis, many in the industry feel the music doesn't have to be moving or effective as long as it has an entertaining video. Mediocre music is now acceptable because of videos.

Notice how the decline of music began at the same time MTV rose in popularity.

Re: The MTV poll

so do i, the video became more important than the song, was what i was alluding to in my previous post.

music is only visual in ones mind, imagination, emotions.
not in video's.
