"Sunshine Of Your Love" or "White Room"

Cream's two biggest hits. Which do you prefer?

I gotta go with Sunshine. It may be my favorite song period. Love it. I really like White Room too, and in a way I can see where more people may prefer it. White Room may be more fully, oh I dunno... developed maybe, better produced...a fuller, more balanced sound (and that fantastic wah-wah) but I still like Sunshine. It's just so raunchy.

Re: "Sunshine Of Your Love" or "White Room"

I gotta vote for "Sunshine....". I just can't stand by and watch "White Room" walk away with this!

Personally I think that "White Room" actually sounds worse than SOYL. There's just something about the sound of that crashing intro that doesn't deliver what it promises. Plus, never really liked Jack Bruce's falsetto voice. His big, full voice on "Sunshine" is excellent. Plus, Clapton's guitar solo on SOYL is a masterpiece of understatement.

And I recently read an old review of Wheels of Fire where the writer wrote WR off as a "rewrite" of SOYL - and after I was done scoffing, I kinda agree!

Just the Drums on Sunshine make it the winner for me.

I recently read something where a guy said "White Room" is a remake of "Tales of Brave Ulysses". Never noticed that before, but it is a bit similar.

Really tough, both great songs. Sunshine needs my vote more and DK makes a good point about Bruce's falsetto on WR.

There's something unintentionally comical about that picture!
