Favorite title cut

What's your favorite Beatles "title cut" from their original UK album releases?

I'm going with "Help!" - followed closely by the album version of "Let It Be", and "Sgt. Peppers....".

Re: Favorite title cut

In our recent title cut poll here, I voted for "Let It Be" as my favorite, but qualified that by saying I wasn't even sure if it was my favorite Beatles title cut...today I'm going with "A Hard Day's Night". I still think "Let It Be" is more epic and universal, but "A Hard Day's Night" really gets my blood pumping. It's always been one of my favorite Beatle songs.

Re: Favorite title cut

Let It Be - the track that essentially carried the album. You can't really say that about many Beatle's albums; there are simply too many good tracks. However, with Let It Be, the lack of incredible songs asides from Let It Be allows the title track to dominate.

I think that "Get Back", and maybe to a lesser degree "The Long And Winding Road" carried it pretty good also.

Re: Favorite title cut

I kind of look at Help as the begining of John stepping away from the cute "love" songs. He's giving us a peak at what's inside him. Later of course he would lay his soul out for us.

And the song just freakin' rocks from the opening shout of "help". I also love the inter-woven backing vocals by Paul and George, as well as George's great descending guitar riff at the end of the choruses. And Ringo drives the whole thing beautifully on that snare.

I was debating putting that song in even though it was originally only an EP in England. I'll have to see if I can add it now. I'm sure it'll get a vote or two.

Like Runtfan, i'm voting for 'A Hard Days Night' (love the tune), but out of those listed, 'Let It Be' in the best and most important song of the bunch.

I have always liked A Hard Days Night right from that first chord.

Re: Favorite title cut

Help! has been my favorite album for a while now, and the title cut is definitely one of the highlights. A great song, representing a big leap forward lyrically for Lennon at the time.

Re: Favorite title cut

Well I almost said 'HARD DAYS NIGHT' because it was my first beatles album but I picked 'Help' because it was a bit more mature and the writing was focused . John's early hand at insightful lyrics. It was really awesome. And the movie was sheer blissful nonsense too

Let It Be, Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band falls close behind it
