Re: CRF2 Top 100 albums Of All Time #10 to 1

Yay, another 10/10 signing in It does seem fairly, eh, reflective of crf2, I agree. With 5 outta the all-time Top 10 CRF2 albums list being Beatles it's little wonder it's uphill debating the chaps

Edit: And with the Stones so sadly under-represented throughout the Top 100 it's also little wonder why the Stones discussions are also always uphill

10/10, also for the first time. 6 of these made my list of 25. Abbey Road was a little bit of a surprise to me. I was expecting Revolver or Dark Side. Great list!

So Van Morrison's Astral Weeks isn't among the 100 best albums of rock. Go figure.

Re: CRF2 Top 100 albums Of All Time #10 to 1

Again I have all 10.

I'm surprised that Who's Next wasn't higher, like #3 or #2. I'm also surprised that Abbey Road beat out Dark Side of the Moon, which ironically was recorded at Abbey Road studios. Also Abbey Road was a surprise album sprung on producer George Martin who assumed the Beatles were done after the tension created during the Let It Be sessions. Paul called up George and said that they wanted to do one last album. His initial reply was that he would only produce the album as long as all four members were present. It's amazing that after all the fighting they came back, for the very last time, and created a masterpiece.

As we examine our Top 100, we may disagree with the order, but this is one hell of list. I think we all did a great job and Zombeels was awesome for his inspiration and hard work.

All of these albums made the list because they were worthy. Next time you go to the record store, check this list first.

Now does anyone know Blender and Rolling Stone's magazine's email address?

I wouldn't be in a hurry to e-mail them.

First of all, here's a toast to the great job made by Zombeels. He really deserves it.

About the list. I don't think is a hell of a list. I don't even think is a good list. As I said before, once you are in the top 100, the place isn't important. But some albums are completely misplaced there and, in my own view, don't belong to that selection.

Let's talk about the ones that aren't: no Marvin Gaye, no Stevie Wonder, no Aretha Franklin, no Bob Marley, no Clash, no Simon & Garfunkel (or Paul Simon), no Joni Mitchell, no Byrds, no Nirvana (that's funny, we choose Nevermind like the second best of the nineties), no Steely Dan, no Elvis Costello, no Michael Jackson, no Van Morrison (no Astral Weeks, no Moondance, no It's Too Late...).

Yeah, I know, I know: people voted that way. Right. We have Neutral Milk Hotel, Tom Petty, Robin Trower, Supertramp (Supertramp?). I'm gonna take a look to that Electric Light Orchestra, there's a long time I heard it. About 25 years.

Take it easy, only my two cents.

9/10
Wonder what I'm missing ?
Great bunch of albums

Sort of what I figured beatle dominated.
This is a nice list of great albums but with the bulk of on a few bands major part of their catalog hogging the top spots its no wonder so much is missing. Sort of why I don't like lists and why I did mine with just about no repeats of bands.

Still a great list great job Z.

Own them all, and on CD.

Not a bad list--I've seen worse.

Re: CRF2 Top 100 albums Of All Time #10 to 1

I own the top 9 of these and they are all fantastic albums!

Of course I would have loved to see Dark Side of the Moon at number 1, but number 2 sure is good! :]

Great list, thanks Zombeels!

Re: CRF2 Top 100 albums Of All Time #10 to 1

I have:
Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" (on LP)
Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper's"
The Who's "Who's Next"
Pink Floyd's "Dark Side Of The Moon" (on both LP and CD)
Beatles' "Abbey Road"

I do prefer Sgt Pepper's over Abbey Road myself though, just wish Sgt Pepper's had "Maxwell Silver Hammer"
