Pot Progressive Bands

Rate the following progressive bands:

1. Yes
2. The Moody Blues
3. Pink Floyd
4. Jethro Tull
5. Radiohead
6. Dream Theatre
7. Trex
8. Supertramp
9. REM
10. Emerson, Lake and Palmer

Some might not consider all of these prog rockers. If so, voice your disagreement. It's the best list I could come up with of the top of my head.

Re: Progressive Bands

I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but for me it's Jethro Tull, then to a much lesser extent, Pink Floyd. Not a fan of any of the others at all.

T-Rex? Really?

Re: Progressive Bands

Not really a big fan of most classic prog bands. Have tried many times but can't get into most of it. From your list I like Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull and Radiohead a lot. Love T Rex too but agree with others they are not prog at all.

A few of my favourite all time "prog" bands are not on your list (although some may argue they don't fit prop proper):

Rush
Mars Volta
Tool
Opeth
Porcupine Tree
Queensryche

As is evident from my list, I tend to like heavy prog/prog metal the best.

Re: Progressive Bands

Floyd and Yes for me .
I like Tull , Supertramp and Radiohead
But not for me as Prog bands to a full extent .
Tull lean towards Folk
Supertramp more of a Classic Rock band .
Radiohead . Just a thinking mans Indie band .

Re: Progressive Bands

From the list:
1) Yes
2) Emerson, Lake and Palmer
3) The Moody Blues
4) Jethro Tull
5) Supertramp

IMHO, Deep Purple are a progressive band that rocks hard.

Re: Progressive Bands

REM from the list though I don't consider them a progressive rock band.
