How about Attacker? Anyone remember them? They released two albums in the 80's and then broke up. They reunited in 2001 and released an album in 2004 and since then have released a few more albums.

I can think of a few reasons…

1.) they never put out an album on a major label.
2.) it took them 14 years to get their first album released
3.) they take forever to come out with new albums, and almost NEVER play live
4.) Bobby Liebling pisses off everyone with his unreliable behavior, raging drug addiction, and relative inability to speak coherently in any language
5.) Pentagram's existed on and off for 37 years, but they only have six studio albums
6.) Bobby's the only guy who's performed on every release
Well, you obviously know your Pentagram....

I remember first hearing Attacker on a Metal Blade compilation, it was Metal Massacre 5 in fact. The song was Call On the Attacker, and it was the best song on the album imo.

They released Soul Taker in 2004 - -which is GREAT!!

If you don't have it, you should!

Here's the title track of Soul Taker - -youtube also has all the songs from that album; but this one is my fave.

Re: 80's Heavy Metal

Metal Church' 80's albums are all classics!! In 1989 Mike Howe (Ex-Heretic) joined the group as a vocalist. Original vocalist David Wayne (One of the best voices in metal!) died a couple years ago. :(

These 3 are must-haves.

I can't say anything bad about METAL CHURCH!!

My favorite tune is
!!

Here's one.

Oh yeah!

I bought this one new also.

I remember listening to it a lot, but not in a long time.

Dare To Spit was another good track.

Nice little obscurity there, MP.

Re: 80's Heavy Metal

The first four Metal Church albums are all sweet. Kurdt Vanderhoof is one of my favorite metal guitarists and songwriters. I'm told the main reason he didn't play with them after the second album was some kind of arm injury, though he still wrote most of the lyrics and music on the albums he didn't play on.

You're right, he continued to write for the band after his injury, they considered him a part of the band even though he did not tour with them for a period.
