Re: Hold Your Head Up or Hold The Line

Went with Toto. 'Hold The Line' has one of the great, underrated guitar solo's in classic rock in my opinion from the very talented Steve Lukather.

I like Argent also though.

Hold Your Head Up is very good, mainly the organ solo. Hold the Line is just ok rock.

Re: Hold Your Head Up or Hold The Line

Hold Your Head Up, only because I just like it more, but not necessarily because it's just the flat out better song. They both have lasted, as they are still spun regularly, but Argent was really just a one hit act.

I don't go by the charts. Argent had some good albums despite what te charts say.

Yes, I know what you're saying, however, charts do have some impact, and while Argent had some good numbers, that was their lone hit, and making it all the more valuable, because one hit wonderdom makes a song better in a way, even if they do have several great, well know numbers. Jimi Hendrix, my favorite, had a sea of top 5's, but in America, he had just one serious hit, that being All Along The Watchtower. But, as we all know, Hendrix is among the all time greats, and probably THE greatest guitar player of all time. BUT is he a one hit wonder? No, not really, because The Velvet Underground has NO hits, and neither does Bob Marley, but I believe their music is so good, not really two I'd call NO HIT wonders. Like you said, never go by chart status.

Hold the Line. My wife hates this song, but I must side with Luke on this one. Luke was the bomb, is the bomb, will always be the bomb. Most people know that he's a fantastic guitar player, and he's still underrated!
