I'm still no closer to figuring this one out, courtesy of No Quarter:

Hen Wing Growth Song - The Line Dance Starts Harborbun

HINTS SO FAR:

But I must admit to being irretrievably stuck.

Still waiting...

Courtesy of No Quarter (who regrettably seems to have made himself scarce and is currently unavailable to provide any further hints )...

Hen Wing Growth Song - The Line Dance Starts Harborbun

And the hint once again is...

The singer is female. She started out on the West Coast, and then moved to the East Coast where she formed this band in the late '70s.

Whatever anagram cheat app other people are using, I haven't found it. And I have exhausted my own capacity to figure this one out!

I need a few more hints...

I use:

http://wordsolver.net

It's only good for the occasional word and probably wouldn't work for lengthy titles or artist names that aren't English words.

For instance, Reporme = Emperor.

I tried entering the artist name "The Line Dance Starts Harborbun" and only got an error.

I can't get over how enormous that artist name is. I didn't know they had band names that long back then.

The....Line ce Starts Harorbun...Band

The key will probably be in the song title.
I was also thinking maybe Joan Jett And The Blackhearts, but for one thing there's no Js in the artist name.

I even looked up a Rolling Stone article about female singers during the 70s to see if anything matched but had no luck.

Yeah I've given up on the one. Tried hard but no luck.

Yeah the Anagram app only does so many letters. It's not good for more than a couple words anyway, and not proper names that aren't English words.

Hey Darth ,
By giving you a few more hints would probably give you the answer but that really wouldn't be much of a challenge , now would it ?

Re: Rock 'N' Roll Anagrams (artist / song)

Well then, be very careful and tactful about the type of hint you give me! Because right now I've got only a couple of facts to work with, and it hasn't helped much at all. I'm completely drawing blanks here! I must admit your choice of anagram was quite challenging and clever, but right now I'm all "challenged out"... played out... at a loss... at a dead end... pick the term of your choice.

Re: Rock 'N' Roll Anagrams (artist / song)

No Quarter...appropriate...

Could you check that all the letters are accounted for, especially in the album title. Also could you maybe give us a couple minor words in the artist, such The and Band. And a year might help.

Re: Rock 'N' Roll Anagrams (artist / song)

Well...since No Quarter is unwilling to provide or drop any further hints to his anagram - and I see no virtue to repeatedly banging my head bloody against this particular figurative brick wall (like so... Ad infinitum... Ad nauseum...) - I think I'm going to move on to another song title.

But I'm going to keep No Quarter's song title in play anyway, just in case anybody else figures it out...

No Quarter:
Hen Wing Growth Song - The Line Dance Starts Harborbun
Apparently fronted by a woman who moved from the West Coast to the East Coast in the 1970's. Anyone? Anyone...?

Here are some words that could be in the title:

Now you're just trying to be cute, No Quarter. FYI, I'm not the only one having trouble with your earlier one...

I'll tell you one thing: if somebody threw this one my way and I didn't already know it beforehand, I'd probably never get it in a million years.

And I'm still keeping No Quarter's in play. (But I swear, there ought to be some sort of Geneva Convention statute against some of what that guy comes up with... Because it's quite often sheer torture!)

I need another trip to Hintsville, No Quarter! My brain needs a little more prodding. Fact of the matter is, I'm definitely not the only one feeling challenged by this...
