The 70's Champion

After starting with nearly 800 albums we now have a winner. The Who's "Who's Next" is our 70's champion. Who's Next just wouldn't be denied as it beat albums from Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, The Eagles, Tom Petty and David Bowie to take the 70's crown.

A deserving choice. And one of the great album cover photos of all time.

I'm more shocked Pink Floyd didn't win with the Floyd mode the board has seemed to be in as of late.

We weren't able to assemble for our bi weekly meetings because we don't have our own sub-forums in the 60s or 70s forums yet

Re: The 70's Champion

This album did deserve it, if you ask me. I was hoping they would win. Yay for The Who

A worthy winner, and the best album ever. I wish I could turn back time, and hear it for the first time again.

Re: The 70's Champion

Thanks for running the tournament Zepp.

I played the winner again tonight to see what I was missing, but nope, it still does not really appeal to me. Oh well, dozens of CRF members can't be wrong....

Don't worry. Dozens of CRF members can be wrong as you, zeppboy and I see it. But it was a fair poll.

PD. It wasn't my personal choice, but as objectively as I can be, the best record of the seventies is Dark Side of the Moon by a wide margin.

Re: The 70's Champion

Congratulations Who fans. Who's Next is one of the greatest albums ever. But it's no Dark Side of the Moon.
