Redbone

Anyone remember the group Redbone from the early 70's. 1974 they had a hit with Come and Get Your Love. They did The Witch Queen of New Orleans and a song called Maggie I think. I have been listening to them this morning and wondered what became of them.

Re: Redbone

Gotta admit I've never heard more than their two big hits but I like both of them quite a bit. Would love to hear more of the earlier Pat and Lolly Vegas stuff.

Re: Redbone

I've been a Redbone fan since the beginning. I saw them in 1971 opening for The Jeff Beck Group. Lolly Vegas had a strong following as he was a damn good guitarist. Back then the boys had a small problem with alcohol. I remember the last song of the late set was "Maggie" and at the end the drummer literally passed out onto the drums and had to helped off. It was still a great set followed by Jeff Beck to complete the evening. I know Lolly had stopped performing due to diabetes but for a time Pat Vegas was touring but I don't know if he's still doing that.

Redbone's debut (double album). Definitly worth a listen (if you can find it).
