*Hits n Misses*
A place set aside for one hit wonders, and wonders why it wasn't a hit-
Leading off with this Antipodean beauty Max Merritt and the Meteors - Slipping Away. |
Re: *Hits n Misses*
Brian Protheroe - Pinball. |
Re: *Hits n Misses*
Slipping Away is alright but Pinball is truly blah. So no, I'm not surprised that they weren't hits.
:dunno: |
Re: *Hits n Misses*
This got the Loog workover, and Vashti helped out... shame it don't get more respect.
Twice As Much - The Coldest Night Of The Year |

Re: *Hits n Misses*
^^truly a great one hit wonder from a one time goat farmer, and is a kiss of death apparently ( anyone that covers it - dissappears into the 50 cent bargain bucket.

Re: *Hits n Misses*
This is a shoulda woulda coulda... but never made it big, these date back to the sixties and an attempt to springboard from the UK new wave scene only received limited interest... shame,( it's a lovely riff work thru' for knackered hands like mine)
The Flamin' Groovies - Shake Some Action. |
Re: *Hits n Misses*
Patchouli Oil Pop, stomper from '72- subsequent follow ups died.
Blackfoot Sue - Standing In The Road. |

Re: *Hits n Misses*
This got nowhere in England despite radio play. Showing the live version from Old Grey Whistle Test here to prove how tight they were(previously named Cosmic Corncob).. Glyn Johns produced and eventually ended up on every compilation going.
(sweet SG) Ozark Mountain Daredevils - Jackie Blue. |
Re: *Hits n Misses*
The band, albums, this single, all seemed to be firing blanks- I bought this mop tops rock cover... shame I was on my own!
Lone Star - She Said She Said. |
Re: *Hits n Misses*
... 'Triffic song about the antics of asshole drummer Mick Fleetwood -
Stretch - Why Did You Do It. |
Re: *Hits n Misses*
A one hit wonder par excellence:
 |
Re: *Hits n Misses*
A band that toured colleges and universities back in the day, they split after several albums and formed The Maisonettes.
City Boy - 5705. |
Re: *Hits n Misses*
Ex Mindbender Bob Lang formed these and scored only this hit (-not the movie theme though
Racing Cars - They Shoot Horses Don't They. |
Re: *Hits n Misses*
Previous members of The Merseybeats formed this scouse outfit and only faired middle charting with the follow up... this is the chestnut!
Liverpool Express - You Are My Love. |
Re: *Hits n Misses*
This missed, yet the follow up charted due to Slimcea diet bread( I can't let Maggie go.)
Honeybus - Do I Figure In Your Life. |
Re: *Hits n Misses*
Individually they scored hits in France and Central Europe.. but they joined forces in '66 for this stomper
(I had this poster of her on my ceiling!) Jacques Dutronc and François Hardy - Mini Mini Mini |
