Yeah, I saw Skyhooks live in '77 at the Roxy Club.

Another meander down memory lane (I don't seem to be making new ones)... anywhooo- this outfit were a blast, named after the F104 widowmaker jet, Eno and The Pink Fairies and Jim Capaldi made up Calverts band.

This was the album released only in the U.S. and this 2006 remastered version contains a few mono versions...

I saw Mazzy Star open up for Cocteau Twins in the very early 90's in an old theater in Chicago....great times....drinks served at the back of the room...what a show. I miss those days....and my friend Greg who has passed on now.

Yes, those days gone by are to be cherished forever....we never knew we had it so good ! I didn't know Greg, but my condolences to you all the same :( . I had 4 pals pass away in one single year...and the saddest thing is, they were younger than me....so sad indeed :(:(:(

I've been following this outfit since the 90s. What strikes me is the vocalist and how the arrangements really fit into the overall musical result

Re: What Are You Listening To?

... re: past posts concerning lost pals and gigs, yes indeed - and music in particular evokes those memories... I went to Dublin to see Lee Hazelwood years ago.. and sat at the bar... bourbon flowed and mixed ideally with the atmosphere.
This song was released as a single - some eleven years after it appeared on an album-and was a firm favourite of a friend who was taken way too early(at Art School we both hated Technical Drawing and snuck off to the Lecture Theatre and both sat at the huge piano, doubling up on Supertramp songs)... the thief that is time eh?
School - from Supertramp.

Re: What Are You Listening To?

When we think of Aussie bands, names like AC/DC, Hush, INXS, etc spring into our minds......but ALAS, we tend to forget bands like The Triffids. NME once proclaimed this band the most influential Aussie rock band.....Nuff said :)
