Saw these in '76 and followed the Welsh wonders ever since... it's the May holiday weekend here, and the shops are empty.... staff of life here though!

I sometimes look upon this great album as 'their Exile on Main St.'

Good comparison Marshall. A difficult album to get into, but I love it now. Yeah, Tony Banks is a misery-guts. Talented, but spiteful. I read somewhere that he and Mike Rutherford gave Steve an ultimatum to stop recording solo albums or leave. So he left because he didn't feel respected as a band member or as a writer.

Nice one! I do recall Banks being horrified and refused to allow Gabriel wear the fox head and dress... but it made that album and tour!
