Top Ten Series: Free
This list is hard to do as this is my favorite band. It is a shame they didn't make it bigger. So underrated. Much more than just, "All Right Now".
My top ten from the band, "Free". 1. Mr. Big 2. Be My Friend 3. Fire and Water 4. Ride on a Pony 5. Woman 6. Don't Say You Love Me 7. Catch A Train 8. Goin' Down Slow 9. Walk In My Shadow 10. Moonshine Also, if you haven't heard their live version of the song, "Crossroads" then give it a listen. Their live version blows any version Cream has done out of the water. |

Re: Top Ten Series: Free
Couldn't agree more. IMO Free had a spark that Bad Company just didn't. Probably Paul Kossoff's guitar and Andy Frasers' bass.
My favourites, in no particular order - Wishing Well Heartbreaker Mr Big Ride on a Pony I'm a Mover I'll be Creepin' Fire and Water The Hunter Walk in my Shadow Woman |

Great band and they did have something that Bad Co did not.

Free's studio stuff to me was just ok but they were one of the best live bands. Bad Company had great studio tracks. Paul Rodgers had such a bluesy sound in his voice then changed it up a bit for more straight ahead rock for Bad Company. Crazy that he still sounds amazing live after all these years. ![]() |

Re: Top Ten Series: Free
Paul Rodgers is a phenomenal singer, but quite a lout. I remember reading somewhere that he used to regularly bully poor old Andy and that is the reason why Andy didn't follow into Bad Company. Andy was a really good bassist and it's a pity he never went further after Free.
I don't eber recall seeing a Bad Company live album featuring the original line up. Is there one? |
