Judas Priest Planning 50th Anniversary Celebrations

Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford says in a new radio interview that the veteran metal icons are planning to mark the band's 50th anniversary in 2019.

"We are, yes," Halford tells 93.3 WMMR Philadelphia. "We're already having these discussions every now and again in the band and with our label and with our promoters and management. We have some ideas and when we get close to solidifying something, we'll let you guys know.

Judas Priest Announce North American Tour

Judas Priest have announced dates for a spring 2019 tour of North America in support of their latest album, "Firepower." Joined by guests Uriah Heep, the veteran UK metal outfit will begin the two-month series in Hollywood, FL on May 3; the run includes multiple nights in several cities and a western Canadian swing before it wraps up in Las Vegas, NV on June 29.

"Metal maniacs - Judas Priest is roaring back to the USA for one more blast of Firepower!," says the band. "Firepower 2019 charges forth with new first time performances born out of Firepower, as well as fresh classic cuts across the decades from the Priest world metalsphere.

"Our visual stage set and light show will be scorching a unique, hot, fresh vibe - mixing in headline festivals, as well as the in-your-face venue close ups. We can't wait to reunite and reignite our maniacs...The Priest is back!" See the dates here: https://www.hennemusic.com/2018/12/j...firepower.html

Judas Priest Plan Surprises For Upcoming Tour

Judas Priest guitarist Richie Faulkner says that the band plans to include some surprise rarities on their North American tour with Uriah Heep, after they surprised fans in Paris with the first performance of "Killing Machine" since 1978.

Faulkner told 100.5 in Atlanta, "We're working up new songs for the setlist for this go-around. There'll be a few surprises in there - some songs that maybe people haven't heard for a long time, or ever from the band.

"So it's exciting just to see people's faces when you throw a new song in there or a blast from the past. We're looking forward to coming back through. It's a slightly different stage production. We've got some new ideas for that as well. So it's going to be an exciting tour. We can't wait to get back out there."

The band will be launching dates in Australia, New Zealand and Japan in March before kicking off the North American tour on May 3rd in Hollywood, FL.
