I'm really quite a huge fan of both bands, but Jane's Addiction has a slight edge, being just a bit more unique and quirky. Alice definitely has a very singular sound and identity, but there was nobody quite like Jane's when they came out!

I saw Jane's Addiction at the Molson Amphitheatre by the lake in Toronto in 2009. I quite enjoyed the concert so they get my vote.

To be honest...I don't own anything by either band....and listening to just a few songs doesn't really give me enough input to decide.
Never really got into any grunge/alt rock stuff. |
