Parliament Release Their First Song In 38 Years

While there have been many releases out of the Parliament-Funkadelic universe over the last few decades by the P-Funk Allstars, Funkadelic (alone), and other groups along with George Clinton solo releases, there has not been a studio recording from Parliament in 38 years. There last album was 1980’s Trombipulation and last single “Agony of DeFeet” from the same year.

Re: Parliament Release Their First Song In 38 Years

The short answer is 'sort of'. This would be if you consider the release of 'Parliament's Greatest Hits' (1984) as the last Parliament release. The idea of a 'last' Parliament album is somewhat difficult to explain. Since the merger of Parliament and Funkadelic back in the early 70s they have essentially been the same band. The idea of a separate Parliament and Funkadelic was a George Clinton way of making more money with one band (don't ask me how it's industry related). Everything since the early 80s has more or less been a 'George Clinton' release again using the same members of whatever constituted Parliament/Funkadelic band at the time. So there has been multiple releases since them but . . .
