That's, like, not even a question for me.

Guns N' Roses are one of the greatest, most abrasive and yet soulful, hard rock outfits of all time.

Bon Jovi are a halfway decent, by-the-numbers pop-rock outfit with a good-looking frontman.

(A couple months ago, I caught a performance by Bon Jovi on an episode of Late Night With Stephen Colbert. They did the song Do What You Can from their most recent 2020 album. On hearing the song, I was very much reminded of a quote from Oscar Wilde: “All bad poetry springs from genuine feeling. To be natural is to be obvious, and to be obvious is to be inartistic.” Come to think of it, that pretty much sums up my feelings about Bon Jovi in general...)

No offense, but once again, here's another band poll that's a totally lopsided, apples vs. oranges affair.

Now, Guns N' Roses vs. Aerosmith: That would be a poll. (And I'm not even sure how I would vote on that one!)

Likewise, Def Leppard vs. Bon Jovi would also be a good match-up. (And rest assured, I am very decisively in the Leppard camp on this one.)

This, on the other hand... I'm tempted to say Close but no cigar. However, I think freewheeling post-Freudian musings about what is a cigar or not a cigar would be more appropriate, or perhaps we're in the realm of cigars vs. non-cigars...

And here are two Bon Jovi tracks that I just happen to like above most of the others. I must admit that I kind of dug their stuff from the mid to late-80's when I was in high school, but as of right now I don't even own a Bon Jovi best-of CD...
