Yardbirds all the way.....it surprises me that Zombies got more votes.
Clapton, Beck , and Page.....need one say more? Plus a string of solid radio hits for multiple years.
The Zombies did have a few radio hits but never influenced music and musicians like the Yardbirds did.

Still surprises me that the Zombies got more votes...they only had 2 hits to be honest and Yardbirds had 4 or 5 plus those great players.....it just goes to show that many people look superficially at music.

The Zombies actually had three big hits:

She's Not There (1964) - Billboard #2, Canada #2
Tell Her No (1964) - Billboard #6, Canada #6
Time of the Season (1969) - Billboard #3, Canada #1

The Yardbirds highest charting hit on Billboard was For Your Love which got to #6. Nonetheless I went with the Yardbirds on the strength of their deeper catalogue with tracks such as Heart Full of Soul and Over Under Sideways Down.

Not to mention Shapes of Things, Happenings Ten years Time Ago, I'm a Man, etc..and Shapes is considered by some to be the first true psychedelic rock song
I actually like Argent better than the Zombies who I always considered to be light weights....though Odessey and Oracle is a good pop pysch record in it's own way.

I definitely agree. Don't get me wrong, The Zombies were a cool band, and they had some great songs. But there's really no comparison between them and the legendary Yardbirds! (They're both '60s British Invasion outfits, so it's not a total apples vs. oranges mismatch.)

Here are my favorite songs by each (and I'm sorry if I didn't dig deep enough for the Zombies)...
