Yeesh, you and your post editing...

Sad reality to some, not me, most people come for ManOwar yes....it's known that T-shirt count is more ManOwar T-shirts in the audience. I would say NIGHTWISH and MANOWAR were the two biggies on this gig.
So I'm assuming you are saying that the Norway festivals at which Manowar does not appear have much smaller audiences?

Hartwall Areena

Total capacity in ice hockey games is 13 464 (all seats). The arena is convertible for various events. For sport events, the capacity is about 10,000, about 14,000 for basketball, for concerts about 13,000, and as an amphitheatre, 3,000-5,000. It is connected to a multi-storey carpark, which has a total capacity of 1,421 vehicles.
Not 40,000.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hartwall_Arena

But I absolutley agree about the impact of the economy on shows. Package tours are the only way to go for all but the biggest acts, regardless of the genre. I fear we may be seeing the last days of the concert tour as we knew it.

I thought we were talking about Grunge bands in here long ago, though I could use a good rib.

Well actually we won't be talking about Manowar, so the only place left to go is up.

On to Grunge, it looks like the poll is coming back to what it should be. Though I didn't know AIC had so much support out there. I thought AIC would be more comparable to Soundgarden in a poll like this. Surprised to see Soundgarden with only 8 votes as well.

Alice in Chains has a lot of support on this board. I actually thought they'd came out on top in this poll because of this previous one:

Alice in Chains versus Nirvana

More of the Alice in Chains than Nirvana vote seems to have bled to the other bands though.

Course Troggy voted in THAT poll, so it invalidates the entire thread.

Hopefully you fellows keep discussion civil in this thread. I'll be very annoyed to see this poll of mine locked.

You've gotta take into account the whole "anybody but Nirvana" vote in that one-on-one poll, though. That heavily inflated the AIC number, not to take anything away from that band. In this poll those votes have been spread out. Still, it's Nirvana-19, Others-37.

Giving my vote to Pearl Jam. It was close between them and AIC for me.

I've wondered about that. I believe you are right.

Re: The battle for Seattle!

I think out of the 4 i would have to pick Alice in chains..For me it's that their sound incorporates more of a heavy metal feel to it!

Re: The battle for Seattle!

Went with Pearl Jam. I'm more familiar with their catalog.

(I loathe Nirvana)

Interesting. Given the results of this previous poll, I thought quite a bit of Nirvana's support would bleed off to Pearl Jam and Soundgarden and that the latter two bands would do better than they actually have.

Re: The battle for Seattle!

I was suprised Pearl Jam couldn't beat The Black Crowes. Of all grunge bands I'd think Pearl Jam would have the best chance there.
