Question The Doors versus the Kinks!

Two heavyweights! But which band do you like better?

The top rock 'n roll animal on this side of the tracks!

The Doors

Kinks are great, but the Doors just seemed to have a more unique sound. I prefer their more darker tone.

Also, none of the Kinks had a stage presence or personality that could even approach that of Morrison.

There are 10 types of people in this world. Those that understand binary and those that don't.

Re: The Doors versus the Kinks!

The Kinks. I love Ray Davies' songwriting. Waterloo Sunset and Victoria are two of my favorite songs ever by anybody.

The Doors sound really dated to me these days, and I never warmed to Jim Morrison's lyrics. Besides, being a bass player, I take a dim view of bands that don't have one.
Some people say tube sound is a smoky nightclub with a hot chick in a red dress, itís a warm swimming pool in summer, glowing green against the purple twilight, itís a . . . well, hell, you canít really explain tube sound.

That's a tough one....I could say when comparing certain albums....but I like both equally when it comes to the overall work.
No vote...yet.
