Exclamation Re: WOWW Radio!

"Hey, hey, hey, are you music lovers ready to rock this crisp January evening? Well then you've come to the right spot on the dial because I'm Doctor Foxhound and this is Hit Radio WOWW where we always deliver the goods! And I've got another tranche of British Invasion hits all stacked up to play tonight, but first this word from our sponsor:

Yes, ladies, nothing does it like 7-Up! So crystal clear that you know it's wholesome enough for the whole family. Breast feeding is such a bother anyway.

Here now are the hits:

That's it for tonight! But tune in again tomorrow."

"The flick we're screening tonight in the staff lounge is 'Alien Origin' from 2012:

The flick is an unholy cross between 'Predator' and 'The Blair Witch Project'. It's supposed to be set in the jungle of Belize but the topography more closely resemble the foothills of the Appalachians in Alabama or Georgia. Moreover the local inhabitants very curiously speak Spanish instead of English. Worst of all, it doesn't go anywhere. It's simply a lousy movie."

And I've got another great show for all you real frantic ones tonight showcasing some of the very best tambourine driven tunes of all time. First though this word from this evening's sponsor, the Louisiana SPCA:

Yes, the holiday season can be a perilous time with the occasional electrical accident taking its toll.

If you've lost a beloved companion to misfortune over the holiday season, never fear! The Louisiana SPCA always maintains an excellent selection of felines to replace any you've lost. So wipe off those tears and visit your local shelter today.

But here now are the hits!

That's it for tonight! But tune in again tomorrow."

Here it is mid-January and I'm sure many of you listeners here in Louisiana and across the way in Mississippi and Alabama miss frolicking in the ocean when the weather's warmer. While we can't do much about the weather here at WOWW, tonight's program looks forward to fun in the surf. First though a word from our sponsor:

So are you ladies ready to entertain proposals from another man? A better one than the last no account bum hopefully? Well then you might have to do something about that excess baggage you put on to get rid of the last one. Never fear because modern science has the answer to losing that weight quickly. Yes, you can now simply wash away the fat with La-Mar Reducing Soap! With La-Mar you'll be as svelte as ready-for-the-beach Mercedes here in no time:

So accordingly we'll be showcasing the hits of Aretha Franklin tonight!

"Yip, yip, yip, arrroooowwww!!! This is Dr. Foxhound your Professor Emeritus of rock here in the Crescent City coming to you live on Hit Radio WOWW. Original Animals' guitarist Hilton Valentine passed away yesterday at the age of 77. Tonight we're accordingly broadcasting a commercial-free retrospective of some of the great hits featuring his guitar playing.

The Animals exploded onto the music scene in 1964 with a stunning rendition of 'House of the Rising Sun' that took pop music to an unprecedented new high. Hilton Valentine's opening arpeggio set the tone for this all-time classic:

Valentine remained with the Animals until the September 1966 breakup of the original band and his guitar remained a key element in their recordings:

Together with the other original members he was part of the Animals' reunions in 1977 and 1983 in which they recorded the LPs 'Before We Were So Rudely Interrupted' and 'Ark' respectively. Here's a cut from the latter:

I had the pleasure of seeing the reunited Animals in concert outdoors at the CNE fairgrounds in Toronto in 1983.

But that's it for now! Tune in again tomorrow."
