![]() So here's the scene. It's the Canada Day weekend and the Kee to Bala in scenic Bala, Ontario is hosting an all-Canadian monster battle of the bands!
![]() ![]() ![]() Music fans and assorted revellers flood into Bala from hundreds of miles around. Traffic is snarled for fifty kilometres around. Every hotel room from Washago to Honey Harbour to Huntsville to Lake of Bays is full. Muskoka area campsites are mobbed. The line up to get into Don's Bakery extends down the block and around the corner. Drunkeness and casual nudity abound. The local Beer Store runs short of product and requires an emergency shipment of more stock: ![]() The OPP is overwhelmed and has completely given up on policing minor liquor and drug offences and concentrates instead on public safety and controlling carnage on the roads. To encourage participating bands to give it their all instead of just going through the motions, the Kee has put up a two-four of Labatt 50 Ale for each and every member of the winning band! ![]() With visions of drunken revellery dancing like sugar plums before their eyes, the bands all give their all. Which of these Canadian bands would get your vote? Doug & the Slugs Goddo Harlequin Honeymoon Suite Kings Loverboy Max Webster Triumph Trooper ![]()

Re: Battle of the Canadian bands!
Man, tough call.. I'm going with Triumph, followed closely by Harlequin.
Always wanted to see Triumph.. one of the few bands in this poll I actually haven't seen. |

Re: Battle of the Canadian bands!
Triumph. I saw them once.
I saw Honeymoon Suite opening for someone once. Jethro Tull maybe? At any rate the guitarist and the singer came out and stood in the crowd during the headliner's set. They seemed much shorter up close than they did on stage. |

![]() I'm really surprised to see Triumph with half the votes in this poll. I didn't know that Triumph was so popular. I actually thought Loverboy would end up with a plurality of the votes based on a similar poll I did six years ago involving four of these bands.

Re: Battle of the Canadian bands!
A bunch of bands I never listened to...but Max Webster is on Prog Archives so they get the nod.

![]() Given your taste in music, you might want to delve deeper into these two bands:
Doug & the Slugs Goddo I believe that's a rarely heard accordion in Chantal. ![]()

Neither band is on PA but I will give them a deeper listen.
