"Sad day. The news is bad. Valerio is unable to take on the position I offered him as Director of Security here at WOWW.

It seems that he has a contract with the Audubon Zoo to control the population of alpacas and thin out crowding on the grounds in general and the Audubon Zoo refuses to grant him a release from this contract.

Oh well. There's always Zoltan."

"Yip, yip, yip, arrrrooooowwww!! This is the one and only Foxhound coming to you over the airwaves courtesy of Hit Radio WOWW from New Orléans! And I've got a great show featuring the best in organ driven rock all stacked up to play this evening but first a word from our sponsor:

Yes, Barq's Root Beer! New Orléans own since, ahhhh well, that's a matter for historical interpretation. But trust me, Barq's never loses its bite even when brought across across state lines for memorial purposes!

And now here they are, tonight's hits!

That's it for me tonight! But tune in again tomorrow."

"Tonight's feature flick from the employee lounge here at the studio is 'The 9th Guest' from 1934:

And I've got a spindle full of great blues-rock tunes here all keyed up to play. But first a word from our sponsor, Original Sea Monkeys!

Yes, just like in your favourite comic magazines! While no longer in supermarket vending machines, they're at better toy stores everywhere in glitzier, and costlier of course, packaging.

Now here are the hits:

That's it for me tonight! Tune in again tomorrow."

"This is Foxhound on Hit Radio WOWW. Very sad news this Saturday morning. Rock and roll pioneer Little Richard (5 December 1932 - 9 May 2020) passed away earlier today at the age of 87. A showman extraordinaire and accomplished keyboardist, Little Richard stretched the boundaries of pop music and laid the groundwork for the soul and funk genres that exploded onto the music scene in the 1960's."

Yes, Kam, from Maple Leaf Foods up in Canada! It's how I stay so strong, energetic and young at heart. A can or two per day of Kam does the trick. It's the secret to my youthful vitality and vigour!

So the first track here is by the artist who invented glam rock, Little Richard!

And here are the rest:

That's it for me right now! But tune in again later today."

Re: WOWW Radio!

Hmm...never though of Little Richard as being Glam Rock...most sources I have read consider Glam Rock an early 70's thing probably started by Marc Bolan and T Rex,..picked up by Bowie, Roxy Music, Mott, Slade , etc...and on from there.

"Glam rock emerged from the English psychedelic and art rock scenes of the late 1960s and can be seen as both an extension of, and a reaction against, those trends.[9] Its origins are associated with Marc Bolan, who had renamed his acoustic duo T. Rex and taken up electric instruments by the end of the 1960s.[15] Bolan was, in the words of music critic Ken Barnes, "the man who started it all".[15] Often cited as the moment of inception is Bolan's appearance on the BBC music show Top of the Pops in March 1971 wearing glitter and satins, to perform what would be his second UK Top 10 hit (and first UK Number 1 hit), "Hot Love".[19] The Independent states that Bolan's appearance on Top of the Pops “permitted a generation of teeny-boppers to begin playing with the idea of androgyny”"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glam_rock
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_glam_rock_artists
btw...wiki is not definitive on anything , but I never considered either Prince or Van Halen in that area.

Did see this....about comments on his passing..
https://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment...chard-70598316
“Little Richard was one of the original rock ‘n’ rollers-- He was THE ORIGINAL GLAM ROCKER, and he took a lot of abuse for being in the first wave. He forged a path for all of us who followed," Joan Jett tweeted.:
Well...at least she thought of him in that way. :)

"Man, that Little Richard was glam twenty years before the term was even invented:

Categorize his music as you may, he could rock when he was with Specialty Records! I don't have the time to agonize over my playlist categories anyway. In between Roscoe looking at me with his soulful eyes begging for more hot dogs, nachos, Zapp's chips, Kam, Klik, Mrs. Wheat's meat pies, Vachon Passion Flakies, Elmer's chocolates, marshmallows, etc. and Nurse Madeline telling me we've got to cut back on the calories and cholesterol, I've already got my hands full.

Huh?! What's in this envelope with no return address that came in the mail? A picture of some sort?

Eeeeppp!!! Oh my nerves! What a nightmare! Proof positive that alcohol causes brain damage.

Who would send me something like this? One of my many enemies I presume. I need a match. There, that takes care of that travesty!"

Yes, Campfire Fruit Swirlers! They're Roscoe's favourite marshmallows and Roscoe knows marshmallows. He always insists on artificial food colouring!

And now for the hits!

Yes, just ask Marilyn here! Ivory Snow will get even the toughest stains out of sheets. And a girl can't afford not to have fresh, clean sheets behind the green or any colour door when the film crew comes in for a shoot.

And now for tonight's hits!

That's it for tonight! But tune in again tomorrow."

Kind of silly actually. But what can a fellow expect from a movie about California vampires?"

Yes, today May 12th is International Nurses Day. And we the staff here at WOWW would like to extend our thanks to our Office Nurse Madeleine for taking such good care of Roscoe and me and looking after our needs during this epidemic. So three cheers for Madeleine!

And I've got another great show keyed up to play for all you prog goons out there in radio land tonight, but first a word from our sponsor:

PEZ, they're not just for kids anymore! I mean compressed sugar with artificial colourings and flavourings, all your favourite cartoon characters and a pretty salesgirl, I mean what's not to like for lads of any age?

And now for the hits!

That's it for us tonight! Tune in again tomorrow."

And I've got another great show devoted to the classic tunes that were played in garages from coast-to-coast back in the late 1960's, but first a word from our sponsor:

"Tonight's feature from the staff lounge is a bit of a surprise, 'Blondie Has Servant Trouble' from 1940:

Believe it or not, but it's a Blondie and Dagwood horror/mystery flick set in a haunted house! Too cool! Evidently 28 'Blondie' films in all were produced by Columbia Pictures between 1938 and 1950."
