Re: Soothing Songs & Quiet Ones...

Playing this over supper, soothed my addled head, I remember buying this album and a large postcard of the album sleeve from Mushroom Bookstore in Nottm...and sticking it on my Physics folder.. which in turn started a crazy book covering craze in our year.. I got detention in the end because 10 exercise books were about a foot high.. I cut up an old fur coat of my Ma's and glued chain mail on top!... anyways Greenslades first 3 albums are a tonic for melancholic moods.

Greenslade - Bedside Manners Are Extra.

One of my favorite albums in the prog area....we must be twin sons of different mothers,

love the Eno above also...it's a bit scary how similar our musical tastes are...

Yeah... ditto on that one- not that particularly I didn't like The Osmonds, Jacksons, Slade, Cassidy and The Rollers etc.. I think album artwork and chart stuff from The Byrds and The Kinks made me think and investigate just that bit further. And the time that it was.. patched denim, long hair, Dunlop Greenflash gym shoes and Grandad vests all rolled into one with global change and the feeling of 'what I'm experiencing has not been done before'.... that was the special bit!
