While "Bohemian Rhapsody" is a masterpiece of arranging, producing and engineering, it's still a novelty song, and Queen always struck me as a novelty band. A very talented novelty band.
The Kinks catalog is somewhat uneven, they're kind of hit-and-miss with me, but they get my vote for "Victoria", Waterloo Sunset" and "Sunny Afternoon" alone.

Now this an interesting battle. Both bands mean something to me from my history. For me it's the Kinks. Queen lose it because of their Kind of Magic and Hot Space albums
