Re: Best Song From Led Zeppelin II

It'll seem strange to you all but when I listened to Led Zeppelin many years ago I didn't understand the words, because I didn't know English well enough. Then and now I like WLL... I mean, this is good piece of music and vocal.

Re: Best Song From Led Zeppelin II

Probably my favorite Zep album after HOTH. Between Bring it on Home, Ramble On, and WLL.

Went with Bring it on Home.

Re: Best Song From Led Zeppelin II

I said Ramble On, but it was certainly tough. It is my favorite Zeppelin album so really any choice would suit me fine.

Forgot about Bring It On Home. Gotta choose that because I *love* it in live versions.

Heartbreaker/Living Loving Maid is a classic.
Rambe On is great also.

Re: Best Song From Led Zeppelin II

Jeez, this is just friggin' tough! Best Zepp album, IMHO!

How do I pick just one!? I guess I'd have to go with Whole Lotta Love. The opening riff is one of the great rock intros of all time and had me hooked on this album from the moment I first laid the needle down on it!

Re: Best Song From Led Zeppelin II

I've always had a soft spot in my heart for "Thank You". I feel it to be Zep's most tender song and the bells used to close it out definitely add to it's beauty and sincerity.

Re: Best Song From Led Zeppelin II

Ramble On. But let me say this, Moby dick is the worst song on that album. IMHO, it's Zeppelin's worst song to my ears. I cannot stand it. When my friends play it, I get up and leaven the room untill it is over/

Re: Best Song From Led Zeppelin II

Despite the many strengths on this record (Bring it on Home, Thank You, WIAWSNB, Heartbreaker, Ramble On...WOW) Whole Lotta Love takes it.

For me it was a tough choice between "Ramble On" and "Thank You". I picked "Ramble On".

Bring it on Home for the riff alone
