![]() The list of my top twenty bands evolves over the years but rather slowly. In rough order right now it would be as follows:
Rolling Stones Doors Animals (Eric Burdon & the) Beatles The Who (Peter Green's) Fleetwood Mac Cream Kinks Blondie Jethro Tull Led Zeppelin Pink Floyd Ten Years After Jimi Hendrix Experience Junior Walker & the All Stars Spirit Roxy Music Butterfield Blues Band Yardbirds Creedence Clearwater Revival David Bowie, Johnny Rivers, Neil Diamond, James Brown, the Supremes, the Four Tops, Prince and Jeff Beck could make it up there somewhere but they're not bands. ![]() Any more lists? ![]()

![]() Ordering the list is almost as tough as deciding which bands must be left off the list.

Re: Your top twenty bands!
No special order though.....
Beatles Stones Who Led Zeppelin King Crimson Genesis Jethro Tull Steely Dan Caravan Jefferson Airplane Traffic Moody Blues Allman Brothers Band Buffalo Springfield Yes Blue Oyster Cult Doors Spirit Little Feat The Byrds But... there are a few that I could substitute for others and of course this doesn't include solo artists that would replace many on the list. |

Re: Your top twenty bands!
I like the mix of old and new.
We saw the Heartless Bastards at the Guvernment in Toronto in August 2009. They were opening for the Decemberists. The Heartless Bastards we rather liked. Overall though it was not a good experience that evening since it was standing room only. We were already tired from spending the holiday weekend touring six or so beaches on Lake Erie from Port Dover to Port Stanley and it was hot and claustrophobic in the concert club. I vowed to never again consider a concert in any venue without comfortable seating. ![]()
